Venril Sathir
Necromancer Level 55 15,000 HPS Melee for 300dmg AoE Lifetap for 1k+
Necessary Players: 2 Rune 5 capable Enchanters Lure capable Wizards 1 Lvl 56+ Warrior 1)All melee characters that will be within AoE range must have rune 5 cast on them before the VS encounter begins.
2) The main tank must be chain runed by the 2 enchanters any extra enchanters will attempt to keep all other mobs at bay. Best described this fight is broken down into time frames. For the first 10+/- seconds the main tank engages VS. At this point all other melee (rangers use trueshot discipline) join in. 5+/- seconds later wizards begin casting lures and SK's can HT.
What you are aiming for is a battle done within 40 seconds. Anything longer you risk a total whipeout with each passing second. No one is allowed to taunt other then the main tank being chain runed Rogues are a huge help, rogues with epic even better. If pets are used, THEY TOO NEED RUNE 5.
Venril Sathir is of course found in Karnors Castle. He's on the main floor, just keep heading back, and you'll get to him. It takes a prepared, skilled raiding party all of about 20 mins to kill him from start to finish, assuming you're all in Karnors to begin with. Here's the general guide: You'll need 2 enchanters, one high level tank, a couple rogues or wizards. Everything else is optional and can be swapped in depending on who is available. Reccommend about 18 people for maximum effeciency, though 12 shouldn't have a problem.
Once you've cleared to the large square room next to his, have the monks feign pull all the trash from around him, while the group buffs up. Standard buffs here, speed clarity, Cleric HP/Ac stuff. The one difference is that all mellee classes need to have Rune V on them. Med up and get ready to go. The reason you use Rune 5 is that it stops the lifetap. As I understand it, the lifetap doesn't even wear away the Rune on the tank, so for a rogue, monk or ranger who's not supposed to be the target of his agressions, they will never get hit by the AE with one Rune. The goal is to have the main tank keep him busy and focused on themselves. The enchanter chain cast Rune 5 and Bedlam to keep VS from tapping the tank. (His melee does wear away the runes of course). If he gets a life tap onto anyone it gives him about 1500 HP per person, so you can picture the futility of trying to kill him without stopping the taps. He only has about 18,000 hit points, so your goal as a group is to kill him as fast as possible. Rogues, especially those with Ragebringer; Wizards, epecially those with Lures; combined with other high damage output can make the actual fight with Venril himself take less than 12 seconds. Every second he lives, your chances of succeeding go down. He drops spells, the Kunark leggings, and some PoS staffs. It's generally advised to bring one of every class who might need his leggings or muphies law ends up with legs dropping that noone can use. At least they're not NODROP.
